Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Alright, I’ll give it to them.  This was the best Potter movie so far.  What a ride.  Jim Broadbent was amazing as Slughorn.  His squinty eye got me every time.  Snape, brilliant, as always.  The real surprise performance came from the young Lavender Brown.  She was historical.  Michael Gambon managed to keep a calm and collected Dumbledore, which I appreciated.  Wonderful movie I must say.  Though I was dishearten by the way they carried out the Ginny story line.  I’m not one to go on about the differences in the book, but there was something uplifting about their first kiss being in front of everyone during the celebration, having just won the cup.  The kiss in the movie, just didn’t have the same grander.  Oh well, can’t win them all.  Still, well done.
